The node key events are delivered to, called once per platform event.
Returning null means "nothing is listening", and dispatches nothing. See
this module's header for why focus is resolved by an injected function
rather than owned here; @fourjs/ui's keyboardFocusTarget(root) is the
ready-made resolver for a widget tree.
