Default flattening tolerance in world units (§7a/§40): the greatest distance
a flattened polyline is allowed to stray from the true curve.
One hundredth of a world unit. A caller that knows its scale — a glyph
outline in em units, a chart in data units, a shape authored in pixels —
should pass its own; this default exists so path.flatten() means something
sensible for content authored at the tens-of-units scale §120's 2D tier
assumes, not so it can be left alone forever.
