Hard ceiling on Bézier subdivision depth: 2^16 = 65 536 line segments per
curve.
A termination guarantee, not a quality target. Subdivision error falls by
roughly 4× per level, so a curve spanning a thousand world units reaches a
0.001-unit tolerance in about ten levels; the cap is only reached by a
tolerance small enough that no finite polyline could satisfy it, and reaching
it produces the finest polyline this module will ever emit rather than an
error or a hang.
